9. Impossible quiche
The impossible quiche is impossible only when you do not have the recipe. But hey, who says you don’t?
You will need:
4 eggs
½ cup chopped onion
½lb cooked sausage, chopped
2 cups of milk
1 cup shredded cheese
½ cup Bisquick
2tbsp butter
Salt and pepper to taste
How to:
Prepare the quiche mix at home – blend the Bisquick, milk, salt, pepper, and butter. Put it in a sealable bag.
At the campsite, add the chopped onions and eggs to the Bisquick mix.
Heat a Dutch oven or a skillet. Brush the inside with a little oil and pour the egg mixture like you would for a pancake.
Top it with chopped sausage and cheese.
Let it cook for 20 minutes, or until it is cooked properly.
Serve hot.
10. Campfire mac and cheese
Mac and cheese are one thing kids will love to eat anytime, anywhere. So here is how you make it for them during a camping trip.
You will need:
1 pack elbow macaroni
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
3tbsp butter
½ cup cream
Salt and pepper to taste
How to:
Cook the pasta in a bowl of water and let it cool.
Stir in the cream, add the butter and cheese to it.
Stir in the salt and pepper.
Prepare the foil packs with cooking spray and pour the prepared pasta into it.
Spray another sheet of aluminum foil with cooking spray and use that to cover the foil packs with pasta. You can freeze these pasta packs before going to the camp.
Cook above hot coals (on a grill three inches above it) for ten to 12 minutes or until hot and cheesy. You can also savor it with campfire nachos.
